Charlotte Singing Kasey Chambers

OMG how cute is this!!! I asked her to sing a bit of the song and she broke out into FULL song!!! If you know the real song you'll know it's almost spot on! So darn cute!!!!!

It's a Kasey Chambers song off her album "Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill and the Little Hillbillie's"...I highly recommend! Awesome mums and kids album!! You can see that albums site here.

1st Big Boo-Boo's

Charlotte had not one, but two milestones this week!

#1. Her first "proper" grazed knee! She came inside to tell me, as proud as punch! (I could tell it was "real" cos she wasn't carrying on like a pork-chop!) she was genuinely proud of it! haha - she posed for a pic before we cleaned it up and popped a Dora bandaid on it!

2 days later.......

...in she comes again! OUCH!!!!!!
#2....a dent in the forehead! Complete with bonus gravel in it too!!!

(Mummy has learnt she doesn't handle this sort of thing very well....as I cleaned it up with some Dettol, my stomach was churning and I went all dizzy and faint!!! Poor thing - she was so brave though that she agreed to pose for a pic before we cleaned it up!) But everything feels better when we play a game on the 'puter!!!

Ah the joys of being a mum!

Just Add Ink #35 - Sympathy

I haven't stamped all week but somehow my desk is covered in stuff - how does that happen?! I'm in the process of getting a nice big L-shaped bench built for my craft room and I'm absolutely hanging out for that! It'll be so nice to be about to spread out a little more and hopefully still have room to put my new photography light box on it as well so I don't have keep moving it around the house to get it out of the way!

But here is my challenge for Just Add Ink #35 - a "Theme Challenge" - Sympathy. I made two in the end and the more I looked at them the more I couldn't decide which one I like better, so I'm adding pics of both!

I have only used Sponge Daubers to create this scene and I tore a piece of cardstock to make my "mountains" shape and fiddled for a long time with them. I like this type of card for a Sympathy card because it says to me "peace & tranquility" and I love the quote for a Sympathy card as well.
stamps: occasional quotes (level 3 hostess set), pocket silhouettes
ink: certainly celery, garden green, wild wasabi, bashful blue, baja breeze, night of navy, chocolate chip
cardstock: whipser white, gloss white
hemp twine, sponge daubers

Thanks for coming to have a look!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #84

I have had in my mind the idea to make a "hot pink" and black card over the last week, so tonight I made this to enter the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (#84) . (Tho I'm not sure it qualifies as I haven't put the sentiment in the right spot - kinda realised that AFTER making it!)I haven't entered any challenges besides the awesome Just Add Ink challenges for months and months but I'm so glad to be entering again!

I have a tutorial on my blog on how I made the rose - you can find it here. The 4" x 4" square has one of the Flourish's stamped all over. I also used a sponge dauber to rub Basic Black ink on the edges of the "petals" before rolling.

Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Stamps: SU Congrats, Kaiser Flourishes

Thanks for coming to look! Leave a comment so I can visit you too!

Dad and his pressies!

Here's my card that I made for my dad and haha - just had to share with you the next pic - upside view of the bench seat - dad had the card upside and said "thanks - its a ship!" What the???
He could so see that it was a ship (the "seat" part of the bench) and the legs were the smoke-stacks and the back of the seat was the shadows on the water! Not sure what he thought the little birdy was! LOL - made me and my mum giggle! This is the wrapping paper of Charlotte's present she made at school for poppy....I loved the wrapping so much that I didn't even realise it was wrapping paper - I wanted to frame it but I wasn't allowed cos it was "POPPY'S WRAPPING PAPER!" I didn't get to take a pic of what was inside but it was the cutest laminated drawing of herself.

At School, she had to chance to purchase a gift at the school "Fathers Day Stall". Charlotte went to school with $4 and this is what SHE chose: a pen holder and some shortbread.

Here's my present for dad. He loves little "hampers" so I bought some "nibbley" types of food he enjoys while watching tele. (SBS!)

And here he is.........he came to visit after having lunch out......and promptly fell asleep in the chair (after he channel-surfed through all the SBS channels)! Charlotte is about to wake him up with a start with that head-tingl-thingy (forget its name). I so wish I clicked the camera when he did wake up which was seconds after this shot - HILARIOUS! He's such a dag with his wild wooley hair but you gotta love him!

Happy Fathers Day everyone (not that I expect there will be many "dads" reading my blog!)

Peek-A-Boo Box

I came across this absolutely cute little box and what a cute little box it is!!! Here's a link for it. This one is made in Certainly Celery with the branch stamp from Great Friends stamped all over in Certainly Celery Ink.
I cut the square out by hand with my blade and attached a little square of acetate to make a "window".

Shredded corrugated cardstock makes a perfect little nest for one of my handmade roses, ready to give as a gift or to use Hostess Gift or Door Prize, perhaps?
And here is another: So Saffron with Baroque Motifs printed in So Saffron ink.
This gorgeous rose (if I may say so myself!)...is a 4" x 4" Confetti White with Perfect Plum sponged with Sponge Dauber on the edge. I love this effect!
Perfect size for a couple of choccies inside! YUM YUM

I have made a photo tutorial on how to make the rose...you can find that here. Please let me know what you think of it...I love feedback!

Bronwyn's Birthday Workshop

Bronwyn Eastley asked me a while ago if I would be interested in holding a Workshop for her Birthday...one where she can come and sit back and enjoy making something without organising it herself. Who could say no to that!!!
So this Monday night, we all got together and created (and stamped and got really confused) but we created!

Here's the Birthday girl looking all smiley at the start of yet another super-busy week!!!
8 ladies along with Bronwyn, my mum Jeane and myself sat around 2 big tables and enjoyed making my creation which you may very well see in my upcoming blog entry! ;)

Below is Glenys and Susan (Susan was happy to buy my very 1st lot of eggs from my girls!)

Below is Sue, Bronwyn and Rochelle (a fellow Stampin' Up Demostrator).
A birds-eye view of part of a table.

Of course I had to take a pic of SOME of the food on offer!

And here she is again ruffling ribbon!

I had a wonderful night Bronwyn and I hope you did too! Happy Birthday!!
