I'm so suscited (oh excited - been around two 4yr olds all day)...I've just managed to produce my first "proper" photo tutorial!!!! AGGGHHH!!!! I even managed to figure out how to turn it into a PDF and then still be able to find it!!!
It's taken me most of the day, but Charlotte is having an all-day playdate with another little Charlotte here at our house - so this tutorial has been my sanity while I listen to them play mums and dads and scream at their kids all day!!!
I'm planning on sharing it later in the week, so please make sure you pop back here then to tell me what you think of it!!!!

Just Add Ink #23 - Designer Paper
What a crazy week...it all started to go bad on Saturday when I had alot of pain in my jaw - by Monday I was in agony - realising I was experiencing my 2nd toothache in my life. Last time I had this much pain I had a back molar taken out via a dentist who had no bedside manners and didnt care that the woman in his chair was crying her eyes out while the dental nurse had my head in a headlock - 1.5hrs later and 1 stitch later I was less one tooth!!! I dreded the thought of going back to a dentist, especially him, so chose to go the opposite and go Public but was so very blessed to get an emergency appointment and a wonderful, kind-hearted dentist who explained every step of the way. I was just so encouraged by him, so much it has restored my faith in dentists. So again, I left the dentist another tooth gone but no more pain from the absess that had found a home in my mouth - ewwww. I'm such a sook but I dont recommend it at all!!!
Anyway, back to what we're here for....I bought this Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper and thought I'd love it, but when it comes down to using it, I find it soooo hard to use - but this week at Just Add Ink the challenge was "Just Add Designer Paper" so I pulled the papers out and the set that goes with it, Cottage Garden, and tried and tried to make it all work. It's been a slight distraction for me the last few days trying to figure it all out!
I used Crystal Effects on some of the flowers and was surprised to see the colour change so much - turned into a real burgundy....weird...but good I guess.

Margarets Bday Card 2010
I stayed up half the night to make my aunty Margaret a birthday card and also a bit of a cheer-me-up card. I was inspired by Teneale Williams card here. I absolutely adore all her work - she sure is one super creative gal!!! Hope you like!

Just Add Ink #22 - Colour Challenge
What a fab Colour Challenge Just Add Ink has this week! Such fresh and vibrant colours, I reckon!
I saw this cut little Watering Can tutorial a while ago, but wasnt able to print it off as I havent had a printers for ages and ages and ages - BUT.....I got one recently so this was the first thing I printed off!!! I got the Tutorial from good old Splitcoast - you can see it here.I used my fav little Sponge Daubers around the edges in Kiwi Kiss and then Tempting Turquoise. I didnt have any TT (Tempting Turquoise) ribbon so I used my Whisper White Taffeta ribbon and sponge daubed (is that how you say it?) it with TT ink. I love how perfect the colouring game out - I didnt have so much success with brayering (?) it.
I wanted to give this one to a special friend but I'm thinking I might have to keep this one and make her another one!!!!! Thanks for coming to look!

Just Add Ink #21 - Layout
It's been a crazy week with my 4yr old daughter on her 1st full 2-weeks of holidays (Term 1 here in Tasmania). She's B O R E D and I'm struggling to keep her filled up to the brim with activities. We have just started our 1st lapbook and I'd love to know if anyone has ever made one or has any tips on where to get things to use for it. If you're not sure what one is, and you're curious - check THIS out for an example.
Anyway, back to what we're here for.....I whipped up this card on a very cold, bleak windy/rainy day. Perfect day to stay indoors - warm and creative! The following layout is this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink.

- I used confetti cream as the square background piece and crumpled it up into a ball several times and then flattened it back again (as well as for the sentiment piece).
- The choc-chip 1" grosgrain ribbon stitching was a tad bit bright for this card, so I toned it down by rubbing a sponge inked in choc-chip over the stitching area.
- The scallops were made from the 3/4" circle punch.
- The mellow moss circle has had a sponge dragged down it in mellow moss, whisper white and choc-chip.

Just Add Stitching
What a cool challenge....Just Add STITCHING!!!! This is one of my 1st cards that I've done stitching on - hang on - um...I think its my 1st one! Either way it was fun to do!
I cut the 5 strips of beautiful Bella Rose DSP - stuck them onto a piece of card - making sure I only used Adhesive in the middle of each strip so that the sewing needle doesn't go through any sticky adhesive. I then sewed with machine down each strip and around the edges.
Next, I put my paneled piece onto a piece of Basic Black and attached that to a Glossy White card with Dimensionals.
The ribbon - Whisper White Taffeta - has a running stitch through the middle of it (done on machine too) and then pulled to gather it up. I fiddled until I had the look I wanted. I adhered it with Sticky Strip.
And of course I LOVE HODGEHODGE!!!!!!
I actually only had one of the bird punched out and a few of the leaves but they were in the wrong colour.....never fear - I sponged over the So Saffron with Basic Black and Kiwi Kiss!
I love the colours of this card and I'm really happy with how it turned out! I'd love to know what you think of it too! Thanks for popping by!
Check out the other Design Teams projects over at Just Add Ink.
